My Birthday Trip to Dubai

Last May I decided to celebrate my birthday in Dubai. My birthday was during Ramadan so I decided to travel the week before. I booked my hotel and flight through Expedia and all together we both paid $1500 a person for the flight and hotel stay.

We flew Air Canada and had one stop in Toronto. Air Canada was a decent airline. They offered breakfast, lunch, and dinner during their flight. I did not fly first class which I will more than likely do the next time around or flyEmirates.  It was actually cheaper to flyEmirates but we wanted to make a stop since we never been on a plane that long before.

The flight first was five hours long from LAX to Toronto and around 12 hours from Toronto to Dubai. We slept most of the flights. I know now that I can definitely be okay flying longer with no stops. We stayed at Jumeriah Emirates Tower Hotel

When we first arrived  we visited the Dubai Mall and went out to eat. Dubai is absolutely gorgeous at night. I was amazed of how beautiful and safe I felt in Dubai.

On Day 2 we went on the Dessert Safari tour. They picked us up from our hotel around 1:45pm and we went. The Evening Desert Safari Dubai came with Red Dune Bashing, Sandboarding, BBQ & Falcon Experience (Semi Private – Normal Dunes & V.I.P Camp Service)

I used Ocean Airs Travel to book this trip. Once you get there you can also ride ATVs for about 25 minutes for an additional charge. You can pay is USD or using your visa card.

On the 3rd day we went on the hop on hop off tour bus. This was very fun and exciting. We stopped at Dubai Mall, Atlantis, Aquarium, underwater zoo, old Dubai, the souks, and etc. If you are interested in buying gold the souks are known for that and you can negotiate with them.

I included the link that I used to book this. You can go here to find out the stops and attractions that are included.

On day 4 we decided to do the Abu Dhabi City Sightseeing Tour from Dubai. The tour guides Picked us on a shuttle 8:30 am from our hotel.

Our first few stops were at Ferrari World and the Emirates Palace.Afterwards we went to visit the world-famous Sheikh Zayed Mosque. They provided attire for us to wear because I had on a maxi dress. Women must be covered completely all the way down to their ankles. Your hair must also be covered before entering the mosque. They have people at the mosque that will assist you with clothing and also covering your hair.

We also went to visit the Emirates Palace which is a 7 start star luxury hotel.

We went to the Heritage Village where we ate lunch and collected souvenirs. The tour also drove us to Yas Island. We were able to visit the  Ferrari World Theme Park.

Venice Beach (4).

On the last day we went to the Jumeriah Beach. The sand was so hot and the water was very clear but salty. The wind kept blowing sand in my eyes but it was still worth the visit. After the beach, we decided to cool off later at the water park. The water park was so much fun. We were able to visit for free because the admission came with the hotel stay. There were some cute locals that literally followed us around the park to hang out with us. I had a boyfriend at the time and my friend was married so we didn’t give them the time of day. We did not have to wear a cover up at the water park. I did feel like we were getting a lot of stares because most of the women were covered up and we were not.
